Feeling stressed and overwhelmed because you've got too much to do and too little time? Then you're probably trying to do too much. So what are the top priorities a CEO is accountable for?
The financial performance of the business. Sounds like a no brainer, right? You'd be surprised, however, if you ask the members of the C-Suite who's accountable for the financial performance of the business. You get a lot of "We all are(s)." Yeah, okay, then try holding a team accountable instead of an individual...
The strategy of the business. Well, you're not going to achieve great financial performance without a well-thought-through strategy. There's a big difference between "working hard" on daily tactical implementation and "working smart" by focusing on the right strategic priorities.
Delegating and managing. It's hard to let go of the reins, but you can't do it all (not well, anyhow), so you need to delegate. Once you do, then you need to coach and manage well in order to get the best out of your team.
High Performance Habits
Keep in mind that leadership is about having power and using it wisely. Are you doing this well?
Know that you can't hold a team accountable; only individuals.
Focus your time and energy on your top priorities, then delegate the rest.
